Professional Background:
Admitted to practice law in the State and Federal Courts of New Jersey since 1978, Roger J. McLaughlin has maintained a law practice in the Township of Wall since that time. As senior partner of the firm of McLaughlin, Gelson, D'Apolito & Stauffer, LLC, Mr. McLaughlin has served as counsel to numerous public entities and local governing bodies as well as private and corporate clients and banking institutions.

Mr. McLaughlin specializes in Municipal, Public Finance, Zoning and Planning Law. He served as the Township Attorney for the Township of Wall from 1990-2007 and as Counsel to the Sayreville Economic and Redevelopment Agency. He serves as Bond Counsel to the Borough of Brielle and the South Monmouth Regional Sewerage Authority and as Special Counsel to other public bodies. Mr. McLaughlin represents clients before planning boards and boards of adjustment throughout Monmouth and Ocean Counties.

In addition, Mr. McLaughlin serves various banking institutions as review counsel for commercial loan transactions. Among the banking institutions Mr. McLaughlin has represented in that capacity are Allaire Community Bank, Central Jersey Bank, Commerce Bank, National Community Bank and Ocean First Bank.

Mr. McLaughlin is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association; the National Association of Bond Lawyers; the New Jersey Institute of Municipal Attorneys and the Monmouth County Bar Association. He has served as Chairman of the Local Government Committee of the Monmouth County Bar Association.

Community Involvement:
Mr. McLaughlin has been an active participant in many community and charitable organizations including Wall Helps Its People; the Early Intervention Program of Monmouth and Ocean Counties; Epiphany House; the South Wall Little League and other charitable and community groups. He has served as pro bono counsel to the Monmouth County Police Chiefs Association, Wall Helps Its People and Epiphany House. Mr. McLaughlin has served on the Executive Committee of the Monmouth Council, Boy Scouts of America and on the Wall Township Recreation Advisory Committee.

Education/Residence:
Mr. McLaughlin is a graduate of the Georgetown University School of Foreign Service (B.S.F.S. 1975) and the Fordham University School of Law (J.D. 1978).
